CTI'S IN TRAINING

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of tile experience as foreman/lead  (Large Gauged Porcelain Tile/Kerdi&Wedi/self-leveling/membranes/mud floors and walls/large format/lippage control systems experience a plus)

• PASS APPRENTICESHIP TESTING MODULES AT INTERVIEW

• STRONG Knowledge of TCNA & ANSI Standards (Part of interview)

• Must be able to follow instructions from foreman/director of installation DAILY

• Strong Leadership & Problem Solving Skills

• Experience reading blueprints

• Experience in detailed daily reports (electronic preferred)

• Problem solving & communication skills - Must follow CTI instructions as lead on project

• Must work well with other crews to meet goals daily and per project

• Pass Federal & State background checks

• Pass drug test

• Valid drivers license

• Willingness to travel for paid training  (ongoing factory training)

• MUST BE MOTIVATED TO TAKE CERTIFIED TILE INSTALLER TEST AFTER PROBATIONARY PERIOD

Apprentice

At J&R Tile, we only promote from within. All our setters and installers began as an apprentice and become eligible for promotion to installer once they complete the certification process of becoming a CTI. 

Qualifications

• 3+ years of tile experience  (Kerdi/Wedi/lippage control/self-leveling a plus) OR hold Pre-Apprentice Certificate through Austin Community College or Alamo College Community District

• Must be able to follow instructions from trainer/ foreman/director of installation DAILY

• Basic Knowledge of TCNA & ANSI Standards (Part of interview)

• Problem solving & communication skills - Must follow CTI instructions

• Pass Federal & State background checks

• Pass drug test

• Valid drivers license

• Reliable with great attitude, collaborative team member

• Willingness to work to be promoted within company and meet goals to be a Certified Tile Installer through Online/onsite apprenticeship program through NTCA University

Team Member/Pre-Apprentice

We're always looking for new team members interested in growing their tile installation skills. If you don't have previous tile experience but have worked in construction, we'd love to talk to you.

Qualifications

• Construction experience preferred

• Highly motivated to promote from within & grow with company as a career NOT A PAYCHECK

• Great Communication & Problem solving skills 

• Must be able to follow instructions from trainer/ foreman/director of installation DAILY

• Pass Federal & State background checks

• Pass drug test

• Valid drivers license or access to transportation

• Eagerness to grow with company and learn new skills

• Willingness to work to be promoted within company to Apprentice
